U.S. Citizens traveling to Bolivia need a visa. The exact requirements change frequently. The Bolivian visa application can be submitted by mail or in person at any Bolivian Consulate, or visitors can apply for a visa upon arrival to Bolivia.Bolivians who have acquired U.S. citizenship are exempt from the visa requirement, provided they can provide evidence of their status as a Bolivian with any of the following current or expired documents: identity card, birth certificate, family book, Military Service Book, Bolivian passport or Bolivian National Single Registry (RUN). A United States passport that states that the Place of Birth is Bolivia will suffice.
